Free Early Learning Classes for Wethersfield Children and their Caregivers
Wethersfield Library’s Children Department offers a vast array of early learning opportunities for Wethersfield families throughout the year. Program registration is ongoing. Library programs include:
Parent Child Workshop for ages birth to 3 and siblings up to 5 years old. A free five-week program that involves children birth to 3 and their parents/caregivers. Features local professionals who serve as resources for parents; emphasizes the role of parents as the first teachers of their children; facilitates early intervention; and teaches strategies for healthy child development and early literacy. Weekly resource professionals may include: Speech & Language; Early Child Development; Music; Health & Nutrition; Behavior & Early Literacy. Registration is required.
MOTHER GOOSE TIME
Storytime for Birth-21 months. Stimulating child and caregiver program which includes sharing board books, nursery rhymes & bouncing games. Parent participation is key! Registration is required.
Storytime for 22-35 months, Exciting program where toddlers begin to appreciate longer stories & participate in group activities. Parent participation is key! Registration is required.
BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS
Storytime for 3-5 year olds. This program is designed to help develop pre-reading skills and to enjoy theme based stories, fingerplays, songs & games. Registration is required.
For 5-7 year olds. Explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math through fun activities. Registration is required.
DROP-IN PLAYTIME and SHORT & SWEET STORYTIME
All ages. Drop-in family fun with a story and a song. Call, email, or drop by the library to sign up for these wonderful programs.
